Model S8+1 2026: A Journey of Youth Diplomacy
Our Vision:
I. Building an Inclusive South Asia and Global Partnership
Model S8+1 2026 was designed as more than a diplomatic simulation. It represented a strategic initiative to empower young leaders through meaningful engagement in dialogue, policy development, and international cooperation. At a time when the global landscape is shaped by complex challenges and evolving geopolitical realities, this platform was created to strengthen youth participation in shaping a more peaceful and collaborative future.
Through this initiative, the South Asia Youth Council aimed to provide a space where emerging leaders could exchange perspectives, build mutual understanding, and develop practical diplomatic skills. The guiding theme of the conference reflected this commitment:
“Empowering Young Leaders Across South Asia and Beyond.”
A Global and Inclusive Delegate Selection
The journey of Model S8+1 began with a competitive and transparent international selection process. The objective was to ensure broad representation from the member states of SAARC alongside key global partners under the innovative S8+1 framework.
Selected participants represented diverse academic backgrounds, cultures, and professional interests. The first group of delegates included young leaders from Kyrgyzstan, United States, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Israel, and India.
The second group further expanded this global network, welcoming delegates from China, Türkiye, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Bhutan.
This diversity strengthened the quality of discussions and highlighted the importance of youth diplomacy in bridging regions and fostering cooperation.
II. The Simulation Experience: Diplomacy in Practice
Engaging in Multilateral Dialogue
After months of preparation and training, Model S8+1 2026 convened as a dynamic platform for negotiation, collaboration, and policy innovation. Delegates actively participated in structured committee sessions, drafting resolutions and negotiating agreements on key regional and global priorities.
The S8+1 model encouraged participants to balance national interests with collective regional goals while engaging constructively with international partners. This format provided a realistic and challenging environment, enhancing participants’ skills in diplomacy, leadership, and consensus-building.
